Enjoy Eating Again
Diet. Trend. Fad. Shakes. Pills. Meal replacement bars. Counting calories. Weighing food. Counting carbs. Figuring fat grams. Low-sodium. Low-fat. Fat-free.

This was written almost three years ago when my oldest child was in school full days and I had my youngest at home with me.
(don’t miss the beautiful poem below)
Healthy. Living healthy. This is all the rage these days – especially at the beginning of the new year.
Think about all the fitness centers and gyms popping up on every corner. What about all the new and fashionable diets you can find out there? Have you ever checked out the health/fitness section at the bookstore?
Crazy full of cookbooks, the latest diet plans and all those must have exercise books.
But really, do people really care about “true health”?
My how times have changed. I’ve been saying that a lot lately…is it because I’m getting older? Probably. It’s something we have to say once we hit 35 and every year after that. We also have to tell our kids to, “Turn that down, it’s too loud!”
Yet, seriously, I remember a time when things were different. A time when we treated people with more respect than we do now (thanks to social media which allows us to throw around insults without looking people in the eyes when we throw them). A time when we took time to enjoy our life in lieu of running around over-scheduled all the time.
Are you a thermometer or a thermostat?
You may wonder what in the world I am talking about, so let me explain.
Do you believe that you can dictate the atmosphere around you? Many people don’t. They think that life deals you a hand of cards and you have to just live with whatever happens.
This is not true.
I was desperate to find something to help my husband’s snoring issue after 15 years of marriage. I was skeptical about using essential oils, but it was my last option, outside of surgery.
