Challah French Toast Drizzled With Dark Chocolate
French toast.
This is definitely a favorite in our house! We like to mix it up all the time and make fun creations with them. My cookbook, Real Food. Real Kitchen. So Good! features our most favorite which is Dark Chocolate and Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast.
With that recipe we use sourdough and love the taste, but we also found that Challah bread makes a wonderful and thick option for this meal, especially since we just made basic French toast this time around.
This dish is great for any meal of the day and if you make enough, you’ll have leftovers too, which means you get to enjoy this more than once.
Perfect.
Now, you don’t have to top yours with what we used on ours – but it sure is good this way. So good!
We use real butter from grass-fed cows since it will provide us with nutrients that you won’t find in butter from conventionally raised cows. It also does not present the negative results from using butter from conventionally raised cows, such as toxins, hormones, antibiotics, gmo grains and more. Grade B maple syrup is our syrup of choice because it is less processed than grade A. It is packed with nutrients: vitamins and minerals, and makes a great natural sweetener. Of course, always choose organic. As for the chocolate drizzle, you can get this from many different sources. To make your own, just mix equal parts of cocoa powder, coconut oil and honey or maple syrup – which will be the healthiest option around. You can also grab an already made syrup at your local health food store – just make sure the ingredients are good and it’s organic. To stay on the healthy side – you’ll need to stay away from Hershey’s syrup. Sorry.
But not really.
Okay, so try out this simple and quick recipe! If you have kids – they will love it! Let them help you. If anything, let them drizzle the chocolate. What kid, or adult, wouldn’t want to eat their meal if it was covered in chocolate?
Covered in chocolate. What a perfect way to serve a meal.

real butter, to top
